2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160: USD Forks, New Features, And Cosmetic Enhancements
The highlighting change that you will notice on the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160 is the new USD forks with a light golden finish. This is in contrast to the dark grey ones present on the NS160 and the NS200. This visual reconditioning gives the darker body frame of the Pulsar N160 a renewed attractive element. Not just this you get overhauled decals on the sides with the N160 lettering using a checkered pattern in contrasting light grey.
Not only this, the turn indicator now sheds the halogen set-up for an LED turn signal unit that ultimately improves the overall utility. Apart from this, the N160 retains its elements as usual.
Features: Fully Digital Cluster, Bluetooth Connectivity, And More
In February, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 received a tech boost with a fully digital instrument console. This upgrade unlocks smartphone connectivity via the Bajaj Ride Connect app. While turn-by-turn navigation isn't available yet, riders can access calls, SMS alerts, signal status, and phone battery levels on the go. The new digital display keeps you informed with essentials like odometer, speedometer, tachometer, distance to empty, real-time and average mileage, and gear position. To further enhance convenience, a USB charging port was also added in the February update.
Powertrain And Hardware: The Saga Continues
The Pulsar N160 retains its familiar hardware and engine. A 164.82cc, single-cylinder, the oil-cooled engine produces 16 PS and 14.65 Nm of torque, channeled through a 5-speed gearbox continues its duties. Dual-channel ABS variants benefit from larger disc brakes a 300mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at the rear for enhanced stopping power. Nitrox mono shock suspension handles rear suspension duties, while both wheels are 17 inches, wrapped in 100/80 front and 130/70 rear tyres.
Price And Rivals
As for the pricing, the updated Pulsar N160 is priced at Rs. 1.39 lakhs ex-showroom. It locks horns with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 4V, Suzuki Gixxer, Herp Xtreme 160R, and others in the segment.
Verdict
Pulsar series is the main highlight of Bajaj's biking portfolio and is also a mass favourite helping it to have a firm grip in the segments that it operates. Giving it due respect and for what its stands, the regular updates on Pulsar models is a testament of Bajaj not taking it for granted, giving the riders the things have been asking for.
