Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 - Design, Features, and Engine
The type-approval documents showcase that the Svartpilen 250 is now homologated. This upcoming model is based on the Vitpilen 250 platform but the design is identical to the bigger Svartpilen 401. With its compact and radical design, the upright position will cater to young buyers. It'll get neo-retro design elements like round LED headlights, round LED indicators and more.
Feature-wise, it'll probably come equipped with a big LCD screen, ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS, USB charging port, and more. Along with the LED lights, Husqvarna will also offer Bluetooth smartphone connectivity as standard.
While it is not official, we expect that the Svartpilen 250 will carry forward the same engine as used on the KTM 250 Duke. This single-cylinder engine is a DOHC unit and it develops a peak power of 31 bhp along with 25 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed transmission with a slipper-assist clutch will be fitted to deliver the power.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 - Price and Rivals
The new model will not endorse a lot of major changes and hence its pricing will be more or less similar to the outgoing bike. We expect the launch price will be somewhere around Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Svartpilen 250 rivals the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Bajaj Dominar 400.
Verdict
Husqvarna bikes are known for their radical design and agile handling. The upcoming refreshed Svartpilen 250 will add new features and refinement to the already available bike. Tell us in the comments what you think of Husqvarna bikes in India.
