Mercedes-Benz India has launched the GLC 43 4Matic Coupe AMG, the performance coupe, at Rs 1.10 crore ex-showroom. The big news is that it features a 2.0L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine, which also benefits from 48V mild-hybrid technology. It was revealed internationally last September, and India has now received it. This three-pointed star automaker introduced this powertrain in the C63 AMG last year, which disappointed several automotive enthusiasts. Mercedes - AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe Design Elements And Features
This performance-specific coupe boasts an AMG grille, 21-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers, side skirts, black side-folding mirrors, chrome door handles, a rear diffuser, and quad exhaust tips. The overall look of this coupe SUV is formidable, further enhanced by a clearcoat paint finish. Plus, there 9 colour options to choose from.
Interior
Talking about the interior, the overall layout is the same as the GLC-Class and C-Class, with much less chrome. Additionally, you get an AMG Performance steering wheel in a carbon fiber design, AMG-specific displays, illuminated AMG door sill panels with "AMG" lettering, and Nappa leather seats that are 10-way adjustable.
From a technology standpoint, it features an 11.9-inch infotainment display powered by MBUX Intelligent Vehicle Assist, a 15-speaker Burmester 3D sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, a heads-up display, and a 12.3-inch driver's display.

At the heart of the coupe SUV is a 2.0L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with 48V mild hybrid assist. It produces 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque, with an additional 14 hp boost provided by the mild hybrid technology during launch control or when the Sport Plus mode is enabled.
This engine is paired with a 9-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission, which Mercedes calls AMG Speedshift MCT 9G. From a performance standpoint, it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Other mechanical features include 4MATIC (AWD system), rear-axle steering, and a sports suspension system, which the company calls AMG Ride Control.

The introductory price of this vehicle is Rs 1,10,50,000 ex-showroom, launched alongside the CLE Cabriolet, which also has the same price tag. Additionally, Mercedes offers an AMG Dynamic package and AMG Track Pace for a more engaging experience. This vehicle competes with the BMW X3 M40i, which costs Rs 87.70 lakh.

Verdict
So, the AMG GLC 43 is here, and it also features the same 2.0L turbocharged engine, which is disliked by several enthusiasts, but its power figures are outstanding. This compact SUV competes with the X3, which is priced at Rs 87.70 lakh. Mercedes' pricing is quite high, and only time will tell how it will impact sales. At the moment, Mercedes has also launched the CLE Cabriolet alongside, with both vehicles priced similarly.
