2024 TVS Apache RR 310; What's New?

The 2024 Apache RR 310 does not look that much different visually, and it retains the same familiar design that we have gotten used to over the years. However, it now receives fairing-mounted winglets and a transparent clutch case cover. Although these are segment-firsts, there does not seem to be much of a use-case out in the real world.

The 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill has been retained. However, TVS has made tweaks to this powertrain in order to push it further to its limits. This powertrain now produces 37.4bhp at 9800rpm and 29Nm at 7900rpm of torque, which is about 3.8bhp and 1.7Nm more than the outgoing motorcycle. A bi-directional quickshifter is now also available, which can be functional from 2900rpm onwards.

Internal changes to the powertrain have taken place, such as the addition of a 13% larger airbox, increased air intake, a larger throttle body diameter, a lighter forged piston, and a longer snorkel. All these changes should result in slightly peppier performance from the lower down the rev range, along with improved high-speed manners as well, all the while still making it more manageable than an RC390 on a daily basis, but more on that after a proper on-road comparison.

In terms of features, the Apache RR 310 gets cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a bunch of rider aids as well. The RT-DSC, as TVS calls it, is the race-tuned dynamic stability control that uses a six-axis IMU, for functions such as cornering ABS, cornering traction control, rear lift-off control, wheelie control, slope-dependent control, and even cornering cruise control. This system adjusts the cruising speed of the motorcycle via sensing the lean angle accordingly.

2024 TVS Apache RR 310: Things That Have Been Retained

The 2024 Apache RR 310 retains the fully-adjustable suspension on both ends, along with glide-through technology, and four riding modes; Sport, Track, Rain, and Urban. The 5-inch TFT cluster has also been retained, with bluetooth connectivity, navigation, a lap timer, rider statistics, online document storage, and incoming calls/SMS alerts.

2024 TVS Apache RR 310 Variants and Pricing

The 2024 Apache RR 310 comes in at a starting price of Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom), which is an increase of about Rs 3000 over the older motorcycle. At this price point, you get the 'Racing Red' paint scheme, but without the bi-directional quickshifter. The same paint scheme with the quickshifter will cost you Rs 2.92 lakh (ex-showroom). There is also a new Bomber Grey paint scheme on offer as well, which can be yours from Rs 2.97 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

TVS will also offer BTO kits this time around as well, with three kits on offer; the Dynamic Kit costs Rs 18,000, and it comes with fully-adjustable suspension, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and the brass-coated chain. The Dynamic Pro kit comes with the RT-DSC rider aids suite, and costs Rs 16,000. For another Rs 7,000, you can also opt for the Race Replica version as well.

Verdict

With this update, the Apache RR 310 has received yet another lease of life, allowing it to run in its current guise for some more time before TVS eventually brings out the next-generation of the motorcycle. With the tweaks to its engine and the addition of rider aids, it remains to be seen if the Apache RR310 is still the sportsbike you can live with on a daily basis, or not.
