One of the most interesting compact SUVs, Renault Kiger has now been launched at Rs lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Renault Kiger shares the similar CMF-A platform as the Nissan Magnite but surely packs in 5 additional features which the latter misses out on.

AMT Gearbox
India is a growing market for automotive and they are readily accepting low maintenance automatic cars. Renault Kiger is available with both AMT and CVT gearbox for the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine respectively.

Nissan Magnite is only available with a CVT gearbox in the turbocharged option whereas the Kiger gets AMT option in the 1.0L NA engine too which the Magnite misses out on. This 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor generates 72 PS of power with 96 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual will be observed as standard in this one.
Boot space
Roadtrips are always fun to do and Renault makes it easier with the Kiger because of an additional 69 litres space. The Kiger packs in 405 litres of boot space whereas the Nissan Magnite only gets 336 litres. Additionally, you also get 879 litres of boot space when the second row is folded.
Additional Safety
Nissan Magnite has scored 4-stars in the Latin NCAP crash rating and knowing that the Kiger shares the same platform as the Magnite, we can expect similar rating. Where the Nissan Magnite packs in 2 airbags for the top-spec variant, Renault gets 4 airbags which bring it closer to the safety factor.

Segment first PM 2.5 Clean Air Filter

Drive Modes
If you are inclined towards the Renault Kiger then you get three driving modes - Normal, Eco and Sports. The Normal mode ensures that you get the performance as well as the mileage while the Eco is to be used when you are cruising on highways and want the maximum fuel economy.
