The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E-Performance is set to launch in India on November 12, 2024. This will be the last and 13th launch of Mercedes for this year, and it will be an entirely different C 63, as it no longer features a 4.0L V8 engine. Instead, it comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6.1 kWh performance battery.
One of its most unique features is the use of F1-inspired technology, specifically an electric exhaust gas turbocharger. So, the world was not ready for this change. Replacing the roaring 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with a 2.0L inline-four with hybrid assist. But, the power figures are shocking: 671 hp and 752 Nm of torque, via a 9-speed DCT that sends power to all four wheels, which allows this sedan to do 0 to 100 km in 3.3 seconds. A big highlight of this mean machine is that it uses F1 technology to produce those astounding numbers.

What Is electric exhaust gas turbocharger?
So, to put it simply, a 400-volt electric motor is integrated into the shaft between the turbine and compressor wheel. It activates the compressor even before the exhaust gas enters. Essentially, the turbo lag that drivers have felt in turbocharged cars before reaching a certain RPM is electronically eliminated. While driving the all-new C 63 S E Performance, the driver will not experience any turbo lag, and this technology is derived from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team.
