The Indian Central Government and all the State Governments are working really hard to improve the education system of our country. As we have seen in recent times, the central as well as most of the state governments are coming up with new scholarship schemes to help children with their higher studies. Moreover, governments are also giving some valuable items to the students as a token of appreciation for their academic excellence. The most recent such news is that the Assam Government will soon distribute around 22,000 Hero Pleasure+ to the girls of the state under the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme 2020.
In August this year, Mr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education Minister of Assam officially announced that the state government will distribute free scooters to the girls of the state. The girl students of the state who have secured first division (60 per cent and above) in their Class 12 board exams under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will be receiving free gearless scooters. There are around 22,000 girl students who have secured first division this year in 12th board exams. The Assam Government will be distributing gearless scooters for free under the new Pragyan Bharti scooty scheme 2020.
The meritorious girl students were asked to choose between an electric and a petrol-powered scooter in August this year and those who haven't chosen anything, they will be given a petrol-powered scooter. Now, the government has officially announced through their registration portal that the students will get a brand new Hero Pleasure+ if they have opted for the ICE scooter. However, the exact model of the electric scooter hasn't been specified yet. The state government will bear the Ex-showroom price of the scooters and the students will have to pay the registration tax and insurance cost of the scooter. Also, the students cannot sell these scooters for three years. The deliveries of the Hero Pleasure+ will commence from November 17, 2020.
Talking about the Hero Pleasure+, it is an elegant gearless scooter that is mostly focused towards the female buyers. The new Pleasure+ is powered by a BS6-compliant 110.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This motor churns out 8.1 PS of maximum power at 7000 RPM and 8.7 Nm of peak torque at 5500 RPM. It comes mated to a CVT and also gets Hero's XSens smart sensor technology with programmed fuel injection system. The new Hero Pleasure+ BS6 is priced between Rs. 61,490 - Rs. 65,640, Ex-showroom in Assam's capital city - Guwahati. The new Hero Pleasure+ is fairly loaded with features and it is available in a total of eight funky colour shades.

This is indeed a great move by the Assam Government to motivate students to perform better in their 12th boards. However, it is worth mentioning that the boys of the state who have passed 12th board exams with flying colours aren't getting anything and this scheme is applicable only on girls.
