Yes, Bajaj has recently launched the Pulsar 125 Series of motorcycles in India which comprises of Pulsar 125 Neon and Pulsar 125 Split Seat. While the Pulsar 125 Neon has been updated to BS6, there is no official word on Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat. So, Is This Motorcycle Still Alive? That's what we are gonna tell you in this article.
Bajaj launched the Pulsar 125 Series of motorcycles in India last year to attract the Indian audience who want a sporty looking motorcycle with decent performance but great mileage. The Pulsar 125 Neon was launched in August 2019 and it received a great response. Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon was based on the Pulsar 150 Neon motorcycle and it borrowed the same cycle parts and overhanging. The only cosmetic difference between these motorcycles were unalike colour options and 125 monikers.
Buoyed by the success of Pulsar 125 Neon, the Indian automaker launched the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat in India based on the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc and it made everyone go crazy. This motorcycle snatched everyone's attention and everybody wanted to get this sporty-looking Baby Pulsar. The Pulsar 125 Split Seat was completely identical to its bigger sibling and it even got same colour options, so no one could ever figure out whether one is riding the baby 125 or the original 150.
The Pulsar 125 Split Seat was one good-looking commuter motorcycle. It was powered by the same 125cc engine that also powered the 125 Neon. It got a BS4-compliant 124.4cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, DTS-i engine that churned out 12 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 11 Nm of peak torque at 6500 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It was very easy and nimble to ride and delivered a good mileage of 55-60 kmpl in the real world conditions. It was because of pure aesthetics that everyone wanted a Pulsar 125 Split Seat.

However, there was a problem. The Pulsar 125 Split Seat was launched in September 2019 but it wasn't available across the country. Initially, it was available only in some limited places like in Telangana state, Maharashtra and some North-Eastern states. Bajaj also brought in the second batch of Pulsar 125 Split Seat in January this year but again it wasn't made available nationwide. Its availability was limited to those certain places and this time some more regions also got it.
The prospective buyers and Pulsar fans were expecting the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat to be available across the country in the BS6-era but that didn't happen. The Pulsar 125 Split Seat has not been made BS6-compliant and it has been permanently discontinued. Our dealership sources say that the motorcycle has not been updated to BS6 as it was hampering the sales of the Bajaj Pulsar 150. Bajaj has also updated its website with all the BS6-compliant models and the Pulsar 125 Split Seat is not among them.
The Pulsar 125 Split Seat was a very good motorcycle for the first time buyers and college-going students who want an economical bike with sporty looks. The last recorded price of Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat was around Rs. 75,000 Ex-showroom, Guwahati. Also, one can still know the then availability and pricing of the motorcycle through Bajaj's Official website but in a tricky way.
