KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- The TFT display with Bajaj badging confirms the automaker.
- The front wheels are the same as those found on the Pulsar N160.
- Indicators are taken from the Bajaj Freedom, and the rear wheel is equipped with drum brakes.
A new test mule has been spied recently, and it appears to be a Bajaj bike. Upon closer inspection, it is believed to feature a 125cc engine and to wear the same wheels as the Pulsar N160. It is also thought that this new bike will replace the Pulsar NS125. So, it seems that the rival to the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R is currently being tested. There is more information I collected from the video, which I will discuss below. So, without further ado, lets start. It's a Bajaj bike, confirmed!
The video showcases a body covered in camouflage, making it hard to guess its parent company. However, the digital display shows a Bajaj badge, the same as seen on the Pulsar NS125. Additionally, the front disc brakes do not have an ABS ring, while the rear end features a drum brake. The indicators are also identical to those previously seen on the Bajaj Freedom.
Overall, the body looks athletic with a wide fuel tank, and the LED headlight design gives the impression that it is somewhat like the Pulsar N150. However, the tail light design feels like it was taken from the Pulsar NS160. So, its a mix of Pulsar and other Bajaj bikes.
Engine
At the moment, this automaker has plenty of engine options to fit into this motorcycle. Based on my understanding, this is a 125cc motor, but not the one we have seen in the Bajaj Freedom or the CT 125X. The remaining options are the Pulsar NS 125 and Pulsar 125. However, looking at the body, it doesnt appear that the company has used either of these motors. So, it is most likely a tuned-down version of the N160. But for the acutal information, we have to wait for the Bajaj response.
Rivalry
So, if all the speculations are true, then it will compete with the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R. Both are highly successful motorcycles and sell in great numbers. Out of these two, the Xtreme 125R is loved the most for its athletic design, peppy engine, and outstanding handling. Talking about the price, the TVS Raider starts at Rs 95,219, and the top trim SmartXonnect costs Rs 1.03 lakh ex-showroom.
On the other hand, the Hero Xtreme 125R starts at Rs 95,000, and the top model costs Rs 99,500, featuring single-channel ABS. For more information on the upcoming Bajaj bike, stay tuned.
