BMW Motorrad India has launched the BMW S 1000 XR in India at Rs 22.50 lakh (Ex-showroom). The new BMW motorcycle will be available in the Indian market as a completely built-up unit. BMW S 1000 XR - Design & Features

The 2024 S 1000 XR comes with a sharp design language with a sharp headlamp assembly. It offers an aggressive look with a high flyline and twin LED headlamp setup. The motorcycle boasts a comfortable and tall stance complimenting the characteristics of the motorcycle. It also comes with a smoked windshield which can be adjusted as per the riders' preference.

On the hardware front, it gets USD front forks, a rear mono-shock absorber, and a stabilizer. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch road-biased tyres. Braking duties are handled by dual-disc brakes at the front. The motorcycle comes with a seat height of 850 mm which can be lowered as well but it comes as optional equipment. The customers can choose low suspension, and low seat as an optional extra as well. The brand claims that the motorcycle now comes with improved ergonomics for a better riding experience.

BMW S 1000 XR

The motorcycle also comes with a plethora of features which include cruise control, heater grips, riding mode pro, TPMS, adaptive turning lights with headlight pro feature, among other features. The motorcycle is equipped with a USB charging socket as standard and a shift assistant pro for precision gear shifts.

The customers can also choose an optional M package with extras such as the M Sport seat, M lightweight battery, M endurance chain, M GPS-Lap trigger, sports silencer, and an exclusive M Motorsport paint work among other features.

BMW S 1000 XR Engine

The S 1000 XR is powered by a 999cc, in-line, 4-cylinder engine which produces 170 bhp of power and 114 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 0-100 km/hr time for the S1000 XR is 3.25 seconds and it boasts a top speed of 253 km/hr.

Verdict

The BMW S 1000 XR is a premium motorcycle that comes with a plethora of features. The motorcycle is now updated with better dynamics and engine characterstics to offer a more enthusiastic riding experience. It is now Rs 40,000 more expensive than the 2023 model, but it includes several new features to justify the higher price.
