Ketsu Zhang, Chairman and Managing Director of BYD India, recently sparked curiosity with a LinkedIn post hinting at a significant event on July 10, 2024, that could impact potential customers in India. The post has stirred anticipation across the country, suggesting a possible new product launch. Despite this tantalizing tease, BYD India has chosen to remain tight-lipped, offering no further clues at this time.
What's Coming In The Base Model Of BYD Atto 3
The latest Atto 3 model is currently equipped with a 60.48 kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of approximately 480 km according to NEDC standards. However, the upcoming base variant is anticipated to feature a smaller 50 kWh battery pack, offering a slightly reduced range expected to fall between 410 to 450 km.
Currently, the market price for the Atto 3 stands at Rs 33.99 lakh. Additionally, there's an option for a limited edition forest green colour, which can be availed for an extra Rs 50,000.

BYD Atto 3: Features And Rivals
In the upcoming base variant of the Atto 3, some features may see reductions. Currently, the model boasts a 12.8-inch intelligent rotating touchscreen, a 5-inch digital instrument panel, wireless charging, 8 speakers, keyless entry and start, a portable card key, automatic air conditioning, a panoramic sunroof, an electric unlock tailgate, one-touch open/close for the tailgate, a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, ISOFIX, and a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The introduction of the base variant in the Atto 3 will likely position it as a stronger contender against competitors such as the MG ZS EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Suzuki eVX.

The upcoming affordable options will provide customers with more budget-friendly choices. However, if essential features are removed, it might make these options less appealing.
