The second vehicle that BYD has released in the Indian market is the Atto 3. The new BYD electric SUV costs Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with a tonne of features. In terms of size, the BYD Atto 3 is smaller than the Hyundai Tucson and C5 Aircross. The Citroen C5 Aircross has the greatest width, the Tucson has the longest wheelbase, and overall length of the three. The BYD Atto 3 has the electric drivetrain that produces the highest power out of the three. However, the Citroen C5 Aircross and Hyundai Tucson's diesel engines provide the highest torque. While ICE powertrains need an ideal rpm to deliver power, the electric powertrain helps to give power instantly.

The recently released BYD Atto 3 has a tonne of goodies, including a motorised driver's seat and passenger seat, a 5-inch digital instrument panel, and a panoramic sunroof. Automatic climate control, a PM 2.5 air filter, and wireless charging It boasts an infotainment system with a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 8 speakers. The presence of 7 airbags, TPMS, ESP, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS makes the BYD Atto 3 one of the safest cars in its class.
The Citroen C5 has a large panoramic sunroof as well as LED headlights and taillights. In addition to these features, the C5 Aircross includes a huge 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and a six-speaker audio setup. Push-button start, park assist, electronic driver seat adjustment, dual-zone climate control, and other extra features are also available. The BYD Atto 3 comes with a price tag of Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The first round of BYD-ATTO 3 deliveries will start in January 2023.
The Citroen C5 Aircross comes in a single Shine Dual Tone variant with a price tag of Rs 36.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Tucson is available in Platinum and Signature trim levels. These variants fall under the powertrain choices category as well. Hyundai Tucson is priced from Rs. 27.69 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs. 34.54 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict
Considering the price, all three SUVs have a reasonable variety of features. Due to the availability of ADAS, the BYD Atto 3 and Hyundai Tucson outperform the Citroen C5 Aircross. Although Atto 3 has the most power among the three, the torque is rather modest. So, the Atto 3 can be a good alternative to the Tucson & C5 Aircross if you're searching for an electric EV under Rs 35 lakh. However, if you want a torquey powertrain and the diesel rumble, you should opt for the Hyundai Tucson diesel or Citroen C5 Aircross.
