Car Makers That Announced A Price Hike In 2025
Maruti Suzuki

Beginning with Maruti Suzuki, which has raised its prices multiple times within the first quarter of this year itself. The Indian car maker has already announced that its cars will receive a 4% increase from April 2025 onwards. Previously, there was another 4% increase effective from January 1, 2025.
More recently, the car maker had hiked prices of certain other models by upto Rs 32,500. Some models, like the Invicto, also got a increase of Rs 20,500 in February.

Hyundai

The Korean car maker is also among those with a increase due to take place soon. Hyundai has announced a increase of 3% on cars such as the Creta, Venue, Verna, and the Tucson. The car maker says this increase is due to rising commodity prices, input costs and other operational expenses.
Kia

Hyundai's sister company Kia, too has announced a 3% increase across its entire lineup from April 2025 onwards, which currently consists of the Sonet, Syros, Seltos, Carens, Carnival, the EV6, and the EV9. Kia too has listed out rising costs of commodities and input materials for the price hike.
Renault

The French car maker currently sells the Kwid, Triber, and the Kiger. The latter two of these are set to generational changes sometime soon. Renault has announced a 2% increase across all three models from April 2025 onwards.

Honda

Honda is also among the manufacturers that has recently joined the list of announcing price hikes within this quarter. The Japanese car maker had previously announced a 2% increase in January 2025 as well, and this is the second time it has done so due to rising input costs. Its entire lineup consisting of the Amaze, City, City e:HEV, and the Elevate will be more expensive from April 2025 onwards.
Tata

The Indian car maker has also announced an increase in prices over its entire lineup subject to the model and variant, due to rising input costs. However, Tata has not clarified the exact amount or percentage of the hike.

Verdict
The recent price hike announcements are a clear indication that inflation is indeed real. With the ever-increasing cost of commodities, these price hikes are only going to make the dream of owning a car more challenging.
