Believe it or not, Figo from Ford is the most underrated car that comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual and even though enthusiasts love the stick shift, there are some loyal Ford fans who want an automatic. Well, according to sources, Ford is planning to launch a petrol automatic Figo by August.
Ford is planning to launch Figo petrol with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This same gearbox is seen in the Ecosport. Unlike its other prelift models, this BS6 version of Figo with use the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 95 bhp with a peak torque of 119 Nm.
It'll be good if Ford launches the upcoming Figo with paddle shifters. Not only it will be fun to drive hatch but also will give the command to the driver to extract the best from the 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine.

The pre-lift model of Figo used to come with 1.5-litre petrol with a DCT gearbox. It is the same which is seen on the Aspire. The power figure on this one was 110 bhp. Next came the facelifted model which used a 1.5L engine and it was mated to a 6-speed auto. This one produced 123 bhp!
It is not really sure as to which variant of Figo will see the automatic gearbox. Our bets are on the top-spec Titanium Blu but the popular Trend variant will be a safe bet too. It is the most affordable and value for money variant and it will help in keeping the costs low too if Figo automatic gets launched in Trend variant.
