Hero Mavrick 440 Revealed With USD Forks, TFT Screen At EICMA 2024
Hero Mavrick 440 and the Harley Davidson X440 were co-developed with the Harley and Hero working together, but the Mavrick 440 was decided to be placed a little lower with a couple of feature omissions. While it was originally launched with the same intent, the Mavrick has upped its game finally, and now, at EICMA 2024, the Mavrick 440 has been revealed with USD front forks and a TFT screen that now places it at par with its Harley twin.
The updated Mavrick 440 retains the same traditional rectangular TFT display within a circular housing as the Harley-Davidson X440. Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged, continuing to be powered by a 440cc engine producing 27hp and 36Nm of torque. While the current Mavrick 440 is priced between Rs 1.99 lakh and Rs 2.24 lakh, the updated model, when launched, is expected to be priced closer to the Harley-Davidson X440, which starts at Rs 2.39 lakh.

Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Patent Filed
While Hero has been toying around with more and more new models, a Scrambler based on the Mavrick 440 patent came out, revealing some finer details. The upcoming Hero scrambler, based on the Mavrick 440, features a more rugged design with a revised headlamp, fork protectors, a small visor, a redesigned fuel tank, a different handlebar, and redesigned alloy wheels. The rear section and footpeg positioning will also be unique to the scrambler. Mechanically, the scrambler is expected to share many components with the standard Mavrick 440 , including the 440cc, liquid-cooled engine, though it may be tuned differently. This is all that is known and speculated as of now, and stay tuned for more details as and when they follow.
Verdict
The updated Mavrick 440 that has been revealed at the EICMA 2024 aims to bring it at par with the Harley Davdson X440. While it would place it even better in the segment, it would come at a cost that would also make it competitive for the motorcycle to lose that edge. However, owing to the deep market penetration and the brand name, it should have no problem making its mark, even with a rich sticker price
