Honda Activa 6G Premium Edition Details
The newest iteration of the Activa scooter gets updated styling. The front has been fitted with golden inserts to give it a premium touch. The dual wing-type design at the front is now golden in shade. Additionally, the front steel wheel has also been painted in a golden paint shade.
As most of the changes are deemed to be cosmetic; it has got dual tone treatment for plastic panels. The footboard area and the attached panels to it are now dark brown painted. For keeping the contrast balanced, the seat of the scooter is also finished in the same brown shade. One can also spot the matt blue paint shade on the metallic body panels. Additionally, the side panel name badge has also been painted golden along with the 'Premium' nameplate.
We remember that Honda has been teasing the Premium Edition with matt paints repeatedly. The first teaser which was released also showcased a similar matt green paint shade. The second teaser showcased the matt red/maroon paint shade. However, the revealed photo has a blue shade. As expected, it has been launched in 3 different matt colour options. These include - Mat Marshal, Mat Sangria, & Mat Pearl.
Honda has not added any new technical features to the Premium Edition. The main changes are only cosmetic. It is being offered with the semi-digital instrument console. The LED headlight is also offered on the front, however, the taillight is a halogen bulb. Additionally, the engine casing has been painted in matt black to give it a more contrasting and rough look.
Engine & Specifications
Why change it if it's not broken? This is a philosophy that is readily followed by Honda. Meaning that the Honda Activa's engine has been its main selling point ever since its launch. The new BS6 engine remains unaltered on the Premium Edition as well. It is powered by the 109.51cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out peak power of 7.8 hp.
However, the drum brake setup is a letdown as we were expecting Honda to offer a disc brake at the front. Honda uses a CBS (combined braking) tech on the Activa for providing it with adequate stopping power.
