Why Honda Amaze Variants Were Removed?
Despite being discontinued, these variants remain listed on the official website. While Honda hasn't officially disclosed the reason for discontinuing these variants, the clues suggest a shift in market preferences. Priced at Rs 7,19,500, the base E variant was loved by fleet operators, but the rising popularity of models like Tata Tiago CNG, Tigor CNG, Maruti Dzire, and Hyundai Aura has impacted its demand.
Meanwhile, the Honda Amaze Elite Edition, launched in October with both MT and CVT gearbox options, came with added enhancements. These models are priced at Rs 9,500 higher than the recently updated VX variant. Their discontinuation hints at possibly underwhelming sales performance or maybe it has been done to create space for the upcoming Amaze facelift. It's plausible that the Elite Edition was introduced as a limited-time boost to the lineup rather than a sustained model.

Honda Amaze: Third generation Soon To launch
In 2013, Honda introduced the Amaze model, followed by the second generation in 2018. Now, Honda is gearing up for the launch of its third-generation, slated for the festive Diwali season.
The upcoming Amaze is set to feature design tweaks, with expectations high for interior updates as well. Under the hood, no changes are anticipated, maintaining its current performance standards with a familiar 1.2-liter petrol engine. It will churn out 89 bhp power and 110 Nm of torque. Paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT. The current Aamze rivals the popular Maruti Dzire which is also slated for an update by mid-2024.
Verdict
The updated Amaze offers necessary safety enhancements but faces tough competition in the market, leading to the discontinuation of less popular variants. The upcoming third-generation launch holds promise with anticipated design updates, but its success will depend on how well it addresses consumer needs and preferences.
