Honda made its debut in the compact sedan segment with the launch of the Amaze in 2013 and ever since then, the car has enjoyed significant fan following. To continue the legacy built by the first-gen Amaze, the brand launched the second-gen Amaze in the year 2018. The new Amaze not only received refreshed styling but also offered a much better package to the buyers. With this being said, check out our Honda Amaze First Look Review for more details.
What's New?
Unlike the old model which largely resembled the Honda Brio, the new Amaze comes with a sharper and more aggressive design. The front now looks bold and upright while the addition of the large chrome and sleeker headlamps make it look in-line with the Honda's new design language. The interiors of the car too have been changed to give more space and a premium feeling inside the cabin. The engines, however, remain unchanged.

Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
The Honda Amaze can be had with two engine options - 1.2-L iVTEC and a 1.5-L iDTEC. Talking about petrol first, this 1.2-L unit churns out 90 PS of maximum power while the peak torque figures stand at 110 Nm. This engine, just like before, comes mated to a 5-Speed MT or a CVT gearbox. The petrol engine is supremely refined and smooth but feels a tad too small for a car of this size.
The 1.5-L diesel engine, on the other hand, churns out 100 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque when mated to a 5-Speed MT. The peak power and torque output drop to 80 Ps and 160 Nm respectively when mated to a CVT gearbox. This oil burner may not be a very refined unit when compared to its rivals, but delivers very high fuel efficiency and is a reliable motor in the longer run.
Looks
The new Amaze gets a very aggressive and sharp design language. Just like other newly launched products in the brand's line-up, the Honda Amaze too gets a bold front fascia with a prominent chrome strip. The rear too gets sharp C-Shaped tail lights. The side profile of the car is comparatively simpler and the overall silhouette of the car gives it a distinctive look.

Interiors
As compared to the outgoing model, the interiors of the new Amaze are more spacious, comfortable and feel a lot more premium. The dashboard layout looks elegant and at the same time increases the overall practicality as everything is well within the reach of the driver. Apart from that, the seats are comfortable and there are plenty of storage spaces inside the cabin.
