Honda Amaze Is Now Pricier Than Before With The Latest Price Hike
  • Honda Amaze is the only compact sedan that is available with a diesel engine as an option
  • The 1.5L i-DTEC is the same as used in the 5th gen City as well

Honda Cars India has now increased the prices of their popular compact sedans, Amaze. This Maruti Dzire rival is now expensive by Rs 11,000 for some of the trims. In this article, we share with you the latest variant-wise pricing for November 2022.

Honda Amaze Petrol Versions - Latest Price

The petrol versions of the Amaze see a uniform hike of Rs 6,300. The 1.2-litre petrol motor is the most favourable out in the Indian market. This one belts out 89 bhp of power with a peak torque of 110 Nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and a CVT as an option. The higher variant, VX also gets paddle shifters.

Honda Amaze Diesel Versions - Latest Price

The diesel variants of the Amaze are now expensive by Rs 11,000. The prices now start from Rs 9.01 lakh and go up till Rs 11.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Mind you, Amaze is the only compact sedan in its segment that is available with a diesel motor.

The diesel motor pumps out 99 bhp of power with a peak torque of 200 Nm. It gets mated to a 5-speed stick shift only. The claimed mileage of the manual version is 24.7 kmpl. In CVT form, the power and peak torque sticks to 79 bhp and 160 Nm. The ARAI-certified mileage of this sticks to 21 kmpl only.

Verdict

The exact reason for this price hike is still unknown, however, we do believe it can be due to the rise in input costs. In other news, Honda will discontinue the 1.5L diesel engine from both Amaze as well as the fifth-gen City.
