Honda Elevate SUV - Booking Amount, Launch Timeline, Fuel Economy
Honda recently unveiled the fuel efficiency figures of the Elevate. The Elevate will be available with only a single powertrain option. This will be the 1.5-lt NA petrol sourced from the City sedan. This engine makes a peak power of 121 PS. Meanwhile, Honda will offer it with an option of a 6-speed MT or a 7-step CVT automatic transmission. Now, the MT will deliver a claimed 15.31 kmpl of economy while the CVT will deliver 16.92 kmpl. While these figures might not look very interesting, the Elevate SUV will have a lot to offer in terms of safety & features. It'll get the Honda Sensing ADAS tech with creature comfort features like a 10.25-inch of touchscreen infotainment system, digital cockpit, leather upholstery, sunroof, etc.
Now, the bookings of the Elevate SUV have already commenced. Some new buyers who booked the product report online that the waiting period has crossed 18 weeks. Depending upon where the car is booked in India, the waiting period ranges from 16-18 weeks. It is a good sign for Honda because it'll be the first mid-size SUV from the brand in India. The booking amount currently stands at Rs 25,000. Interestingly, Honda reports that more than 40 per cent of the bookings have come from existing Honda car users. It also indicates the amount of trust & faith the buyers have in Honda's engineering.
Verdict
Honda Elevate is one of the most awaited car launch of 2023 in India. It'll rival the popular SUVs like Hyundai Creta, the new KIA Seltos, & the Maruti Grand Vitara. However, there will be no option of hybrid or diesel powertrain on the Elevate which might result in restrictions for new buyers. But, Honda's reliability as well engineering has already attracted a lot of buyers. If the pricing of Eelvate is aggressive, it can become a segment leader.
