Honda Elevate Dark Edition And City Sports Edition To Launch Soon
Given its name, the Honda Elevate Dark is expected to feature an all-black paint scheme with blacked-out chrome elements. While no mechanical changes are anticipated, the Elevate Dark will retain the powerful 121hp, 1.5-liter petrol engine, which is available with both manual and CVT gearbox options. Based on the top-spec version, the Elevate Dark is likely to be priced slightly higher than the current ZX trim, which ranges from Rs 15.21 lakh to Rs 16.43 lakh. Interstingly, the Elevate also saw an Apex Editions a while ago which managed to get decent traction. Unlike the Honda City, Elevate does not offer any hybrid powertrain set-up to make up for the omission of a diesel mill.
On the other hand, as the name suggests, the Honda City Sports edition is likely to feature cosmetic enhancements such as decals and different alloy wheels. The powertrain options will remain unchanged and will be shared with the Elevate. Honda is expected to charge a slight premium for the City Sports edition compared to the standard model, which is currently priced between Rs 11.82 lakh and Rs 16.35 lakh. It remains to be seen if both the hybrid and the naturally aspirated models will come with the new edition or some exclusivity will be introduced.

As for the launch timeline, the City Sports is expected somewhere after Diwali, around November-December 2024, and the Elevate Edition is slated for March 2025. However, dealers have now requested the brand to cut short the Elevate's launch timeline and introduce it earlier. It remains to be seen if this changes things and by how much.
Verdict
The Elevate Dark and City Sports editions are aimed at boosting the sales even further by introducing these limited run editions that seem to hve worked for the brand. However, the request for launching the Elevate on an earlier date might prove to be effective as the SUV is performing decently and could prove to be beneficial for the brand as well as the dealerships.
