Honda Elevate Details - What Will It Be?
Honda has finally opened up about its upcoming SUV in India. It is going to be called Elevate and it'll belong to the mid-size SUV segment. The car is already doing its final rounds of road testing & now its first teaser photos are also out. Going by the spied-on test mules unit now; we suspect it'll look more or less like a mix of the HR-V & the new WR-V sold internationally. The design of it will be a boxy shape but with elements like a big front grille, LED lights, etc. Also, it is rumored that Elevate is based on the CIty 5th-gen platform. This means it'll get a roomy interior space and the latest features as well.
Online reports have been suggesting to us that it'll be 4.3 mts long. This means it'll rival Hyundai Creta & Maruti Grand Vitara directly. Additionally, Honda will fit the latest features on it like a big sunroof, digital cockpit, 360-degree parking camera, & even adaptive cruise control. Honda might also offer Honda Sense ADAS on its top specs. Under the bonnet, it is suspected to get a single 1.5-lt Honday City-sourced petrol engine. This engine might not feature the strong hybrid powertrain like the City but we can expect mild-hybrid tech for sure. Honda will offer it with options of manual as well as CVT automatic gearbox.
Verdict - Price & Launch
Honda has officially announced that the Elevate will debut in India on June 6 - this will not be a launch for now. As it is going to be longer than the 4 mts mark, it'll be priced at a premium. We expect that it'll have a sticker price of around Rs 10.5 lakh for its base model. As we move forward toward the launch, more details about it'll be unveiled. Stay tuned to 91Wheels until then.
