Honda is ready to enter the compact SUV space with an all-new Made In India 'Honda Elevate SUV'. Since this vehicle is directly challenging the authority of Hyundai Creta, the hype is not getting any weaker. While the Global debut is set for June 6, the SUV has been spotted testing in Japan again and few more details have emerged from the fresh spy shots
Let's look at the latest spotting and what it reveals.
Honda Elevate SUV Spy Shots
With the latest images surfacing, it looks a little more defined than before. The quick observation has to be the rear wiper that is clearly visible and is expected to be accompanied by a rear washer as well. The alloys are a lot similar to the ones currently offered with the Honda City. However, the higher trims are most likely to get the gloss black treatment on the wheels. A flat roofline slanting slightly at the rear of the SUV, sits in tandem with the previous spy shots.

Looking at the outline, it sports an upright stance with sharp creases and borders that have been designed to keep the Indian market as the main focus. However, after the Indian launch, it will be exported globally as well.
Features
The front facia is flattened and will house the ADAS sensors. Yes! ADAS and a small electric sunroof are coming with the new Honda SUV, along with a host of features on board. You can expect ventilated seats, wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and more. Meanwhile, a panoramic sunroof is missing on this one as clear from the teaser shots by Honda. Its safety kit may include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control with hill start assist, rear parking sensors, and most likely the ADAS safety suite.
Powertrain
The Elevate will only come with the City's 1.5-liter petrol engine at launch, which puts out 121 hp power and 145Nm of torque. Gearbox choices will include a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. A strong hybrid powertrain will be making its way with the Elevate SUV as well. But like always, Honda will bring this up at a later date.
VERDICT- The new spy shots are from Elevate's testing in Japan. While they confirm a few details, some new ones are out as well. Since it competes in a very fierce segment, Honda will be coming with its 'A' game, in a bid to dethrone the existing rivals.
