Honda Elevate SUV Safety Ratings - Details
Safety is now the first priority of the new-age Indian customer. May it be a small hatchback or a mid-size SUV like Elevate. Customers now prefer a safe vehicle for themselves. Hence, to cater for buyers who prefer safety first, Honda has claimed that the Elevate has been tested internally. At a media event during the test drives, Mr Kunal Behl (Ops Head Honda Cars India Ltd.), told the media that it has been crash tested by Honda. However, the Elevate was not sent to any agency like GNCAP, the internal crash tests were equally strict and followed the same scenarios and processes. As per Honda, the Elevate performed brilliantly and it can easily withstand the global safety ratings.
Now, how do the safety ratings work? Independent safety test agencies like GNCAP surpass a model through various safety tests. These tests include scenarios as such head-on collision, t-bone collision, child safety, etc. Hence, a total score out of 5 is provided to a vehicle depending on its safety features & structural rigidity. While Honda Elevate is yet to be tested by a global safety agency, Honda has already mimicked the same internally. The results, as shown by Honda, are more than satisfactory. Hence, the new buyers ought to remain happy with its build quality as per Honda officials.
The Elevate comes equipped with the utmost safety features and the most advanced autonomous driver-assist functions. Honda Sensing tech offers features like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot warning, etc. These features coupled with a strong structure and basic safety like 6-airbags, EBD, ABS, hill-hold assist, etc., make a strong case for Elevate among safety-oriented buyers. However, the segment rivals like Skoda Kushaq & VW Taigun also offer a proven 5-star GNCAP safety test rating.
Verdict
Honda Elevate is one of the awaited car launches of 2023 in India. Honda has also received a good response since the bookings have commenced of it. The SUV is now scheduled to launch in September while the deliveries of it'll begin by October. But, the sore missing with it'll be the lack of a diesel engine like the KIA Seltos or a strong hybrid powertrain like Maruti Grand Vitara.
