Honda Vario 160
The Vario scooter is by default the most relevant choice for the Indian market. It will compete with the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155 & Aprilia SXR 160 maxi-scooters. Speaking of the Vario, it features sharp & futuristic styling from bigger Honda maxi-scooters. With multiple sharp edge panels upfront & short wheelbase the upcoming scooter will focus on more riding aesthetics.
It is powered via a 159.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces a peak power of 15.4 hp & 13.8 Nm of peak torque. Due to its lightweight, the Vario can touch the top speed north of the 100 kmph mark easily. The performance quotient of this scooter will make it an aggressive competitor in the local market.
Spec-wise, Honda will fit all the latest features & technology. These will include the combi-disc brakes at both ends, a digital TFT infotainment screen, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, & many more rider-aiding features along. Other tech aspects include LED lighting, USB charging, dual-channel ABS, etc. as standard.
Honda ADV350
The second patented scooter is the Honda ADV350. It is a more rugged & larger capacity scooter as compared to the Vario. Made its global debut back in EICMA 2021, the ADV350 is an off-road-focused scooter. Honda uses a 330cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine to power this scooter. It produces peak power of 29 hp & 31.5 Nm of peak torque.
The overall size is big & blunt. The use of a smaller windscreen, bulky front panels, & chunky USD forks makes up for distinctive looks. It comes fitted with wider & fat off-road tyres to assist trail riding. The ADV350 is one of its kind from Honda. The overall specs seem very attractive on paper, but time will tell about how much Honda is serious about launching it in India.
The Indian two-wheeler market is ready for the maxi-scooters. The success of the Aerox 155 is an example that is encouraging other manufacturers like Honda now. Soon, more such scooters will debut in India in the upcoming time.
