Hyundai Casper Launched In South Korea, Bags 12000 Bookings In A Day

Hyundai has finally launched its micro-SUV, Casper, in South Korea. In fact, it has been able to achieve 12,000 bookings on the first day of launch. Even the President of South Korea booked one. Hyundai has designed the SUV-inspired hatchback especially for Korean markets due to which the car will not be launched in India. The dimensions of the car are so less that this micro-SUV is even shorter than the Hyundai Santro.

Taking a look at the SUV from all ends, it is 3595 mm in length, 1595 mm in width and a height of 1575 mm with a wheelbase of 2.4 metres. Hyundai has built Casper on the brands K1 compact car platform which is also there in the Santro and i10 Nios.

The entry-level trim for the Casper would be priced at 13,850,000 won which is around Rs 8.6 lakhs (in Indian Currency) and the top variant would ask for a premium of 18,700,000 won which is around Rs 11.65 lakh (in Indian Currency).

Hyundai has introduced two engine options with its Casper, 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a power delivery of 76bhp and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which churns out 100bhp. The engines are mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai always offers a hamper of features installed in its cars. However, Casper also has some trendy features like  8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports smartphone connectivity, 17-inch alloy wheels, and the segment-first ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and a sunroof as option.

Hyundai has designed a practical cabin for its smallest micro-SUV, Casper. Its front and rear seats can be folded and the second row can even slide fore and aft by 160mm. To increase the space at the boot, the rear seats can also be folded to fit in more luggage.
