Tata Punch is a popular mini SUV in the Indian market and is grabbing a fair amount of sales too. Its closest rival, Citroen C3 too is attracting the market but the sales are not as close as that of Punch. However, we have another piece of news for you and it is good. We believe that Hyundai is all set to launch its upcoming car, Casper in the Indian market soon.
And we also believe that the launch will happen at the 2023 Auto Expo by none other than Shak Rukh Khan, Hyundai's Brand Ambassador. In this article, we share the top 5 things that are expected with the upcoming car, Hyundai Casper.
Powertrain
First and foremost is the heart of the car. We expect it to be powered by the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor which is the same as seen in the Grand i10 Nios. It churns out 82 bhp of power with a peak torque of 114 Nm. We expect a 5-speed MT as standard and an AMT as an optional gearbox. Do note that its rival, Tata Punch too gets a 1.2L NA petrol motor, however, that is a three-pot motor.
In addition to this, we expect the South Korean carmaker to include the 1.0L turbo petrol motor too. This will be reserved for the higher trims only. This 1.0L three-cylinder motor is the same as Hyundai, however, we do expect the power figure to be detuned. If it's launched then it will make 99 bhp of power with a peak torque of 172 Nm.

Features
Like other Hyundai cars, we expect this to be feature-loaded too. It is expected to get a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, power folding ORVMs, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop and more.
Design
The split headlight design combined with stylish-looking alloy wheels and the boxy silhouette is what completes the upcoming Hyundai Casper. The faux skid plate adds to the sportiness and overall, it looks quite modern and it carries all the necessary equipment too that is needed in today's car.

Safety
Safety features like ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, reverse parking sensors, speed-sensing door locks, a high-speed alert system, and front seat-belt reminder will be made standard here. We do expect other features like traction control, ESP and even a 360-degree camera on the higher trims.
Price, Warranty and Rivals
As far as the prices are concerned then we do expect it to be priced from Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Just like other Hyundai cars that come with a standard warranty of 3 years/1 lakh km, do expect Casper too to come with the same. Once launched, Hyundai Casper will take on the likes of Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and Maruti Ignis.
