Hyundai Casper - Smallest Hyundai For The Indian Market?
The Hyundai Casper is already on sale in the Korean market and it boasts a very funky design language. Built on the same K1 platform as the Grand i10 NIOS, & Exter, the Casper boasts a length of 3,595 mm which is smaller than the Santro, a width of 1,595 mm, a height of 1,575 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.
On the design front, it boasts a funky design language with big circular headlamps, top-mounted sleek LED DRLs, a mesh front grille, air dams on the bumper along with some silver elements on the grille and the bumper. The side profile gets squarish wheel arches and roof rails to give it an SUV-like look, sporty alloy wheels enhance its side profile, and the rear door handle is placed near the C-pillar. The rear of the Casper is also a bit funky with a parametric design for the tail lamp with black elements, and a faux diffuser on the bumper to give an SUV look.
The interior of the Casper is rather minimalistic and not as funky as the exterior. It gets a two-spoke steering wheel, free-standing touchscreen infotainment, a dashboard-mounted gear lever, and a center console among other features. The list of features in the Casper sold in the Korean market is quite long.

Hyundai Casper Engine Specifications
The Casper in the international market comes with a 1.0-litre NA petrol engine with 85 bhp of power and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which generates 99 bhp of power. These engines are available with manual and automatic transmission options. In the Indian market, we can anticipate the Casper to come with the NA petrol engine only with manual and AMT gearbox options.
Verdict
Hyundai Casper could be placed under the Hyundai Exter in the Indian market. This crossover between a hatchback and an SUV will give the best of both worlds to the customers. The funky design language might work in the favour and if priced under Rs 5 lakh in India, it can be a good replacement for the Hyundai Santro for the Indian market.
