According to sources, the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to feature a 45kWh battery pack supplied by LG Chem, a global lithium-ion battery pack supplier for Hyundai. Derived from the conventional ICE-powered Creta platform, the EV variant will undergo specific modifications. Notably, the Creta EV's battery capacity places it between the MG ZS EV (50.3kWh) and the Maruti eVX (expected in 48kWh and 60kWh variants). While smaller than the ZS EV, it surpasses the Nexon EV's 40.5kWh battery for the long-range variant.
In addition to the battery details, reports suggest that the Creta EV will share its electric motor with the latest-generation, entry-level Kona EV from the international market. This indicates that the Creta EV will be equipped with a single motor positioned on the front axle, generating approximately 138hp of power and 255Nm of torque.
Creta EV: Launch And Rivals
The Hyundai Creta EV is anticipated to make its global debut in the second half of 2024, with pricing details likely to be revealed in early 2025. Positioned as a direct competitor to the MG ZS EV and Maruti eVX, it's noteworthy that the Maruti model is designed exclusively as an electric vehicle from the ground up.
