One of the most anticipated SUVs from the German brand, Skoda, is the Kushaq and it has now been teased on the website. The upcoming Skoda Kushaq is a mid-size SUV which will target with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks and even the lower variants of the MG Hector.

New Platform
Sitting below the Karoq SUV which was a full import, the Kushaq now gets the new MQB AO IN platform which further translates to additional cabin space for both front and rear-seat passengers. In fact, future Volkswagen-Skoda cars will sit on this new MQB AO IN platform only.

Exteriors
The Kushaq was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo as the VISION IN and it was quite pleasing to the eyes especially in the bright orange shade. The body cladding running all over the body along with butterfly grille at the front and sleek headlights really bring out the look.
The side profile continues with wider alloy wheels and the rear continues to bring out a distinct look. The split LED-style taillights followed by SKODA lettering between the taillights. The scuff plates continue at both the front and rear which gives it a sporty look and then a blacked-out roof which brings out the character in the upcoming SUV.
Interiors
The car showcased the Auto Expo was just a concept but the production design might take inspiration from it. The larger touchscreen which will host modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Voice Command. One might also get virtual cockpit design as we have seen on the Superb and all-digital instrument cluster.

Features
Since the Kushaq will be targeting at the buyers opting for the Hyundai Creta, it is expected to come with a huge panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, connect car technology, automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring system, rear disc brakes and among others.
Engine Options
One of the most popular questions is about the powertrain of the Kushaq. Reports suggest that the Kushaq is expected to come with a petrol engine only - a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit and a more powerful 1.5-litre unit. The smaller engine is expected to feature in the lower variants of the Kushaq so as to keep the pricing in check.
This 1.0L TSI is the same as seen on the Skoda Rapid which makes as much as 109 bhp with a peak torque of 175 Nm. and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The bigger 1.5L TSI unit generates as much as 150 PS with a peak torque of 250 Nm. This unit is the same as seen on the Skoda Karoq. A 7-speed DSG comes as a standard unit.
