Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has launched its entry-level SUV the Exter in India at Rs 5.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom) to Rs 9.32 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Exter is based on the Grand i10 NIOS' platform and is available in eight primary variants. This new SUV will sit below the Venue in the brand's SUV lineup. 2023 Hyundai Exter
The recently introduced Exter is built on the same platform as the Grand i10 NIOS hatchback. This brand-new SUV from Hyundai is placed as an entry-level SUV. It has a number of distinguishing elements up front, including the distinctive Exter emblem, dynamic skid plate, projector headlamps, and H-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL). It has diamond-cut alloy wheels with a distinctive pattern on the sides. Moving to the back, it gets an H-shaped tail lamp, and noticeable silver skid plates on the bumper that incorporate reflectors. It also has a shark fin antenna and a high-mounted stop lamp.
The Exter's interior boasts an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-leatherette seats, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also come equipped with TPMS, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, connected car features, support for regional languages, Alexa integration, voice command support, and various other functionalities. In terms of safety, all trims of the Exter will include standard 6 airbags, Hill Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and several other safety features.

Hyundai Exter Powertrains
The Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that delivers 82 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. For transmission options, customers can choose between a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox with this engine. This engine is rated for a claimed fuel economy of 19.4 km/l with 5-speed MT and 19.2 km/l with the AMT gearbox.
Another engine option available is a 1.2-liter petrol engine with CNG compatibility, which produces 68 bhp of power and 95 Nm of maximum torque. This engine will be exclusively paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is claimed to give fuel efficiency of 27.1 km/kg.
