Launched in the country in 1998, the Hyundai Santro became of the top-selling models in the segment. The Santro was known for its spacious cabin, tall-boy stance, and handsome looking design. The brand launched the Santro Xing in 2003 which later got a facelift near the starting of 2010. The facelift Santro Xing looked better, had an improved engine, and continued the Santro's esteemed legacy. So it was this new Santro which was finalized to replace our Maruti Alto. The car was bought in January 2011 and was extensively used inside the city. So with this being said, before I start with our Hyundai Santro XING CNG ownership review, here are quick details about the car:

Cons
- Short gears make it not so fuel-efficient on the highway speeds
- Rear seat space could have been better
- High-speed stability could have been better
- AC is not so great
- There are very few storage spaces inside the cabin and there are almost no bottle holders
Starting with the exteriors, the car gets a handsome front fascia. The large headlamps and slated grille at the front complement the overall design and the front bumper gets a very elegant look. Moves to the side and you will realize that the tall-boy stance makes it look impressive. The rear however remains busy and gets a tailgate-mounted number plate. The factory-fitted spoiler at the rear gives it a better visual appeal when compared to the models without it.
The interiors were simple and the car gets a dual-tone finish. The quality of the quality of the plastic is great and ages really well over time. The steering is not very close to the body and the gear level too is well within the reach. The windows are huge and the driver gets great visibility of what's happening around. The seats are comfortable at the front and at the rear per the legroom in the second room is at a premium. the doors open wide and getting and out of this car is extremely easy.
Final Verdict
The Hyundai Santro is a well-built car that gets a reliable petrol engine. It may not deliver breathtaking performance but has enough grunt to keep you happy during your everyday driving. The build quality is great, the ergonomics are sorted, and the after-sales support too has been great so far. We were using the car in CNG and we never had any sort of issues with this reliable workhorse. If you are planning to buy a used Hyundai Santro Xing, I would definitely recommend you to go for it, provided that the car is in good condition.
