Hyundai India will soon unveil the Verna facelift at 2020 Auto Expo and this sedan might just pack enough pros to take on its rivals. Here is everything you need to know about the new Hyundai Verna Facelift!
Hyundai has already unveiled the Verna facelift in China where it has been priced at 7.45 lakhs (as per local currency) for the base model and it is only available with a sole 1.4 litre 4-cyl NA petrol engine with 98 bhp and 132 Nm of torque. In India though, we will be getting a pair of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines carried over from the Kia Seltos.
What has changed in styling?
There are minor tweaks to the styling but the overall silhouette is still intact. The front has received a massive chrome cascading grille with chrome bars studded horizontally. Although we expect the front design to be altered a bit to take on the taste of Indian buyers. The grille has been joined with new angular LED lights and new air ducts have also been placed below in the bumper.
The side profile has not been changed and it has just received new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear profile has received a massive overhaul with new LED tail lamps connected with a thin LED strip and Hyundai logo has been placed in the middle of the connecting strip. Down to the bumper are the vertically placed reflectors and a faux diffuser with chrome surrounded faux exhaust ports.
New Hyundai Verna Facelift Interiors:
The interiors haven't changed much when compared to the exterior. There are subtle technological changes but the overall design is still familiar with the current Hyundai Verna. Proudly sitting on the centre of the dashboard is a new 8.0 touchscreen infotainment with both Android Auto and Apple Car Play and we will also receive Bluelink connected car features in the Indian model.
There is a new 12.3-inch digital driver's display which will be seen in most of the upcoming Hyundais' from now like 2020 Hyundai Creta and Hyundai i20. Some cool unique features like wireless charging, ventilated front seats, smart trunk release and the electric sunroof will be carried over from the current Verna.

New Hyundai Verna Facelift Engine options:
Currently, Hyundai Verna gets a pair of 1.4 diesel and petrol engines and a pair of 1.6 diesel and petrol engines. The 1.4 diesel and petrol are reserved for lower variants with only manual transmissions whereas the 1.6 diesel and petrol engines are sold with both petrol and diesel engines in top trims.
Not happy to say but all there engines will go out at least in case of Verna and a pair of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will be taken over from the Kia Seltos' powertrain. Both the engines produce mere 115 ps but diesel produces 250 Nm of torque and petrol has a sweet 144 Nm of torque. The 1.5 petrol will be paired with an IVT transmission and the diesel will be getting a 6-speed automatic.
Hyundai will unveil the Verna Facelift at the 2020 Auto Expo and it might get launched in mid-2020. All the engines will be BS6 compliant and that will increase the pricing by a fair margin. The current Verna range starts from 8.17-14.07 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi.
