Maruti Eeco

Eeco van starts at Rs 5.44 lakh and its top variant costs Rs 6.70 lakh. It comes with two powertrain options - a 1.2L petrol engine and the same engine with a CNG kit. The claimed fuel efficiency in petrol-only mode is 19.71 kmpl and 26.78 kmpl with CNG. That said, 95% of Eecos on roads are in CNG, as this vehicle is primarily used for commercial purposes, not private. However, now this van's safety levels have gone up, as 6 airbags are made standard on all trims, along with ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ,electronic stability program, and seat belt reminder with buzzer (front and rear seats).

To add more, Maruti Eeco is available with two seating configurations - a 5-seater or 6-seater configuration. In the 5-seater, the second row features a full-size seat on which three people can sit. On the other hand, in the 6-seater, the second row features captain seats, and then for the third row, there are small two-seater seats. By this, Eeco has become the most affordable car in India to get captain seats.

Verdict
Maruti Suzuki has done a tremendous job by offering so many standard safety features in their vehicles. Now, almost every car in their lineup comes with 6 airbags as standard, except for the Maruti Fronx - which is expected to get them in a few days. The prices have gone up, but thankfully, these higher prices now feel justified. Moreover, Maruti is actively busting myths about their vehicles. For instance, even last year, the Dzire received a 5-star GNCAP safety rating, and now, almost every car comes equipped with several safety features as standard.
