Kia will launch its second product in the Indian market after the successful launch of the Seltos. The second vehicle from the brand will be an MPV, and it will be positioned above the Toyota Innova Crysta in the market. The all-new MPV will launch in the Indian market at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, before that, the company has officially announced Kia Carnival versions along with specifications, engine details and features.
The Kia Carnival will be available in three seating options. There will be a 7-seater variant, 8-seater version and a 9-seater. These seating options are available with three different trim levels. The base variant of the Kia Carnival gets the name Premium, while the mid-level variant is called Prestige. The top-end version of the Carnival is the Limousine variant, and it is the most luxurious variant of the car.
All the Kia Carnival versions will be feature loaded. Even the base variant - Premium will come with a long list of features. Kia will offer a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four-speaker system, steering-mounted audio control, reverse camera, cruise control system, smart key with push-button and a lot of similar features. Kia will offer ABS and EBD with dual front airbags as standard with this version.
The Premium version of the Carnival will offer features like LED projector headlamps, 'Ice Cube' signature fog lamps, LED tail lamps, electrically powered tailgate, dual-panel sunroof, electrically powered folding wing mirrors, chrome accents all around and more. The Prestige variant offers curtain and side airbags too. There are additional safety features like cornering brake control, ESC, rollover mitigation, front parking sensors and more. This variant will be available only with a 7-seat or 9-seat option.
The top-end Kia Carnival Limousine will be available in a 7-seater version with luxurious VIP seat with leg support as standard. This variant also gets Nappa leather upholstery and steering cover. Other features include a three-zone climate control system, Harman Kardon 8-speaker system, electronic parking brake, 10-way power-adjustable seat, wireless charging system for smartphones and more. The Limousine variant also offers the Kia UVO connect similar to the Kia Seltos.
A 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine will be available with the car. It produces a maximum of 200 Bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. There will not be any manual transmission option with this vehicle. All the trims will be available with 8-speed automatic transmission.
