Kia is all set to launch their upcoming electric vehicle, EV6 in August this year and it will be limited to 100 units only. The bookings for the same will commence on May 26 and we expect it to be priced above Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The South Korean carmaker will be bringing 100 units of the EV6 only because of the shortage of semi-conductor chips globally. Not just Kia but this issue has jeopardized the sales of several carmakers and thus in return, there is a huge waiting period for mostly all the models. These 100 units will suffice for the whole year as Kia plans to sell the EV6 via a single dealer in each of the metro cities.
In the international markets, Kia EV6 is available in multiple powertrain and battery pack options. However, the India-spec model will be based on the top of the line variant only that gets all the bells and whistles. A larger battery pack of 77.4 kWh which gives a claimed driving range of 510 km.

Design-wise, the EV6 is a striking looking car. At the front, it receives all-LED headlights with a sharper bumper design and Kia calls the design, Digital Tiger Face. That is new from the Tiger Nose Grille that we've heard before. Moving towards the side profile, the EV6 gets 19, 20 and 21-inches alloy wheels. We might get the smaller, 19-inch wheels in the Indian market. The sloping roofline and door handle make the side profile of the EV6 great. At the rear, the full length LED lightbar might appeal to some and here too at the end of the bar, it gets chrome knurling as we've seen in the Kia Seltos and Sonet.
Since it will be based on the top-spec variant, expect a panoramic sunroof, dual-screen set-up (one for the instrument console and other for the infotainment system), dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, two-spoke steering wheel, ADAS, lane assist control and among others.
