Kia Motors has unveiled the latest sedan, Kia K3 in the international market that follows the new design philosophy. While it looks sharp and sporty, it's high time that a Kia sedan enters the Indian sedan space, and this can be the perfect bet for the brand. Even more, a Hyundai Verna rival is an even more enticing place to be in. However, there is still no confirmation about its launch yet.

Let's look at the details of this new fluidic sedan from Hyundai's sister brand.

Kia K3: Styling

Sporting a dynamic and aggressive appearance in line with Kia's fresh design language, the Kia K3 exudes a sporty aura. At the front, the sleek grille showcases the iconic Tiger Nose grille, seamlessly integrating with the headlamps for a cohesive look. An eye-catching feature is the substantial LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), gracefully extending from the headlights and gracefully descending towards the bumper. This striking DRL arrangement, which is also anticipated in the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift, imparts a distinct and captivating aesthetic to the K3 model.

The Kia K3 boasts a sporty side profile accentuated by stylish diamond-cut effect alloys. Diverging from the Hyundai Verna, the K3 flaunts a seamless side profile devoid of intricate contours. The gracefully sloping roofline seamlessly blends into the rear. Although images of the production model's rear profile are yet to be unveiled, the sketch provides a glimpse of an elegant design featuring interconnected tail lamps. This seems to be the new-age rear element of all the upcoming cars.

Kia K3 Sedan: Interior

Inside, the Kia K3 welcomes you with a stylish two-spoke steering wheel that exudes an appealing aesthetic. The interior is highlighted by a curved dual-screen arrangement featuring a 4.2-inch digital cluster and a generous 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard follows a sleek layered layout, fostering a clutter-free appearance through minimal button usage.

Technological features include wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a two-zone touch automatic climate control system, and customizable ambient lighting that offers an extensive spectrum of up to 64 colors. Rear passengers also get dedicated air vents for added comfort and convenience.

The Kia K3 prioritizes safety with standard features like six airbags, ABS, and ESC. ADAS features include Front Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Driving Attention Warning for proactive protection.

Powertrain

The Kia K3 offers various petrol engine choices, excluding a diesel option. It features a 1.6-liter NA petrol engine generating 123 PS with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The GT Line variant boasts a 2.0-liter petrol engine producing 152 PS with a 6-speed AT. Additionally, Kia plans to introduce a 1.4-liter engine for certain international markets. However, the diesel mill is a miss altogether.

A Worthy Hyundai Verna Rival

However, this sedan is not coming to India. While it is a perfect rival to the Hyundai Verna and Honda City, Kia is resistive to entering the slowly pacing sedan space. Meanwhile, the sedan segment is slowly reviving with other brands picking up pace.

Verdict

The Kia K3 presents a sporty and aggressive design language with a sleek grille, distinctive LED DRLs, and sporty alloy wheels. Its interior features a modern dual-screen setup, wireless smartphone integration, and advanced safety features like ADAS. With a range of petrol engine options, the K3 offers a diverse choice for consumers seeking a stylish and well-equipped sedan. Since it is not coming to India, Hyundai Verna misses out on a worthy rival. Also, join our Whatsapp Group Community of petrolheads to find out more exciting news like this.
