Update 12/05/2021 - Kia has updated the 2021 Seltos with a new logo and has included some features in the lower-spec and mid-spec variants. Kia Seltos is now priced from Rs 9.95 lakh to Rs 17.84 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Kia Motors India received a great response for the Seltos in the Indian market and it was sold in huge numbers. On the other part, the CNG market in India is growing owing to a lot of reasons like low emissions, better fuel efficiency and affordability. A lot of people living in metro cities opt for CNG there days and we have the first Kia Seltos to have a CNG kit installed.
This Kia Seltos has got a Zavoli Bora S32 8-injector sequential CNG kit. The 8-injector CNG kit offers smooth acceleration and great efficiency along with reliability as well. The kit is installed by Maruti Auto Gas and the video shows various cars with CNG kits installed. The video doesn't have the installation process of the CNG kit but a look into the engine bay.
The Kia Seltos comes with a good 433 litres of boot space and the CNG kit doesn't take much space inside. With the CNG kit in place, there is a generous amount of space left for small luggage. The cost of the CNG kit is not mentioned in the video but it will cost around Rs 50,000. Moreover, if you want to get a CNG kit installed in your car, consult with the RTO first as many people faced issue in registering the CNG kit with their cars and RTOs halted the registration for CNG kits.
Talking about the Kia Seltos, this one is the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 115PS and 144 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-step CVT. The one in this video is the 6-speed manual and the CNG level indicator is mounted next to the gear lever. Opting for the CNG kit can decrease the running costs drastically and even big sedans like the Skoda Octavia are coming with factory-fitted CNG powertrains globally. We may start to see more carmakers giving the CNG powertrain factory-fitted in higher segments as well.
