Kia India is set to unveil the facelifted version of the Kia Sonet in December 2023, with pricing expected to be announced early next year. The Sonet, which initially debuted in India in August 2020, is receiving a refresh after three years on the market.

Kia Sonet Facelift Debuts Next Month
Kia's upcoming Sonet facelift, set for unveiling in December 2023, has been spotted undisguised ahead of its international launch. The refreshed model will feature significant changes to plastic parts, while sheet metal updates will be minimal. Notable alterations include a new front bumper design with distinct versions for GT Line and HT Line, revised headlamps with vertically extending drop-down elements, and a modified daytime running lamp signature and fog lamp housings.

The profile remains largely unchanged, with differences in chrome elements and body cladding, complemented by new plastic wheel caps and alloy wheel designs. At the rear, the facelift showcases vertical tail lamps connected by an LED light bar and an updated bumper with a dual-tone finish. While the international version has been revealed, sources indicate that the Indian-bound Sonet facelift will feature unique styling touches.
Interior Expected Updates
The updated Sonet facelift will bring changes to its dashboard layout, including new switchgear, and may incorporate screens from the Seltos facelift. The instrument cluster is expected to be all-new for certain variants, resembling those found in the Venue and the Carens. Furthermore, new upholstery shades will be introduced across the entire lineup, enhancing the interior aesthetics of the compact SUV.
Engine And Specifications
The Sonet facelift will maintain its existing engine lineup, featuring a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83hp and 115Nm, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 120hp and 172Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine delivering 116hp and 250Nm. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is expected to be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the turbo-petrol and diesel engines will retain the 6-speed iMT. There are discussions about reintroducing a diesel manual variant in certain versions. Furthermore, the turbo-petrol and diesel engines will offer a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed automatic, respectively.
Kia will showcase the facelifted Sonet in India sometime in December 2023, however, the pricing will be revealed at a later date.
Verdict
The new updated Kia Sonet is set to bring forth some major updates. Apart from everythig else, you can expect ADAS to be incorporated as well.
