KTM Duke 125, RC 125 Now Discontinued

KTM India's calling it quits on their 125cc lineup, meaning the KTM Duke 125 and RC 125 are bowing out. Both these models are not getting the latest emissions update, and will be going off the shelves come April. Back when they launched, around 2018 for the Duke and a bit later for the RC, KTM figured there was a demand for premium, sporty small-capacity bikes. They did alright, but honestly, they couldn't hold a candle to the Yamaha R15 and MT15, and the fierce competition made it tougher to pull in numbers that could make sense. Those Yamahas just flew off the shelves, probably thanks to that solid Japanese brand reputation. KTM tried to keep the 125s going with some updates, but it just didn't pan out.

From April 1 onwards, the sales of both the motorcycles will cease with the dealers ready to push out the remaining inventory as fast as possible. Although the bikes were nimble and had quite a good performance for the price, it was the brand penetration that made a reasonable difference.

Engine Details
The KTM Duke 125 features a 124.7cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, designed to deliver 14.9 PS of peak power and 11.5 Nm of torque whereas the KTM RC 125 offers the same engine and power, but slightly higher torque at 12 Nm. Both the models come paired with a 6-speed transmission.
Verdict
The motorcycles have had a brief run and while the brand pushed all it can to boost up the sales, the small capacity bikes from KTM did not match up to the expectations from the brand. However, the models are active until April this year and the dealerships have enough stock to last for a while. If you want to get your hands on one, make sure ot act quick and take advantage of the stock clearance offers.
