Mahindra is giving buyers a choice when it comes to powering their new electric SUVs. Both the XEV 9e and the BE 6 come with two battery options: a 59 kWh pack and a larger 79 kWh one, obviously, the range you get depends on which battery you choose, which is a 600+ for both. Right now, both the SUV and the SUV coupe are coming with rear-wheel drive, although the platform they're built on (INGLO) could definitely handle all-wheel drive (AWD) if they decided to offer it later. Another thing to note is that they support fast charging at up to 175 kW, which means you can juice up the battery from 20% to 80% in just about 20 minutes, which is a pretty convenient thing to have.
Verdict
These all-new electric movers from Mahindra are redefining what the EVs are capable of and offer a unique experience, both inside ans out. Coming to the pricing, the positionig of these vehicles is another thing that will draw some serious interst from buyers looking for an electric car. Can these replace a conventional ICE car to be a primary vehicle for the masses? Although they have that potential, the consumer behaviour will be a difficult thing to alter.
