Mahindra has introduced a new variant of its Bolero Neo SUV called the N8R. The N8R variant will sit between the N8 and N10 variant and will fill the gap between these two variants. Also, the Bolero Neo will be a more affordable option for those looking for a mid-variant with the addition of the new version. The N8 and N10 variants differ by around Rs 1.20 lakh, and this new model will be more feature-rich than the N8 variant while being less expensive than the N10 variant. Body colour door handles, ORVMs, and bumpers are included on the outside of the new variation. A chrome-finished grille, LED DRLs, halogen headlights, and halogen turn indicators are added to the front appearance. The Vehicle has black steel wheels with coverings and turn indicators placed on the fenders. Halogen taillights, an X-shaped spare wheel cover, a rear glass wiper, and a defogger are all included on the back.

Interior features include a touchscreen infotainment system that was formerly exclusive to the N10 & N10 (O) model, fabric upholstery, power windows, and silver highlights on the a/c vents. Additional interior features include a manual-adjustable ORVM, an analogue instrument cluster with a MID, an ECO mode, engine start-stop functionality, Bluetooth, and Aux connectivity. Seven passengers can easily fit inside the Vehicle, with three of them being able to sit comfortably in the centre row.

Safety net of the SUV includes dual-front airbags, engine immobilizer, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, speed alert, corner braking control and more. This variant misses on electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control, rear parking camera and other features which are available in upper trims only.

Mahindra Bolero Neo N8R - Engine

The 1.5-liter mHawk diesel engine from Mahindra has been modified to meet impending BS6 Phase 2 pollution requirements. The engine produces 260 Nm of maximum torque and 99 bhp of maximum power in its current configuration. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission option.

Verdict: The new model will bridge the gap between the N8 and N10 variants, which have a about Rs 1.20 lakh pricing difference. This would enable the company to attract more customers searching for more economical SUV options.
