1. When It's An EV, Let's Talk About The Range First

When it comes to EVs, everything comes with range anxiety, and by the paper numbers and the honest claims, it looks like it has been taken care of with this latest launch. The Mahindra XEV 9e electric coupe-SUV is built on the modular INGLO platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. It comes with two battery pack options: a 59kWh and a 79kWh LFP battery, both backed by a lifetime warranty. With a 175kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The 79kWh battery variant offers an impressive range of 656 km on the MIDC cycle and 533 km on the WLTP cycle whereas Mahindra claims that real-world range can exceed 500 km.

2. Styling Like A Concept

Gone are the days when Indian manufacturers were known for their subtle and sober designs with the sharper and more beautiful models being introduced by international brands only. The XEV 9e looks absolutely stunning with a lot of shared similarities to its concept guise. While the long extended LED DRL strip surrounding the triangular headlamp looks neat, the overall coupe body frame accentuates the sharp visual appeal of this EV. The aerodynamic alloys with the solid wheel arches and a minimalistic very XUV-ish rear complements the overall exterior. The interior of the 2024 Mahindra XEV 9e features a futuristic layout, highlighted by three 12.3-inch screens, giving the cabin an impressive 1.1-meter total display area. In addition to the screens, the XEV 9e boasts a host of premium features, including a head-up display, customizable ambient lighting, and preset mood themes. The cabin is further enhanced with a new two-spoke, multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and a suite of tech and safety features like Level 2 ADAS package, a 360-degree camera, seven airbags, and dual-zone climate control, 1400-watt Harman-Kardon sound system with 16 speakers, electronic parking brake, Auto Park function, wireless phone projection, and multiple USB Type-C charging ports (65W), scheduled charging, and a lot more.

4. Powertrain Details

The XEV 9e is equipped with Mahindra's innovative 'compact three-in-one powertrain', integrating the motor, inverter, and transmission into a single unit. The 79kWh battery variant delivers 286 hp and 380 Nm of torque, powering the rear wheels and enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 6.7 seconds while the 59kWh variant is powered by a 231 hp motor. 5. Pricing

For the pricing, it has been set at Rs, 21.90 lakhs ex-showroom sticker price as an introductory price. After a while, expect the prices to be revised for a higher range. Alongside this, the BE 6e has also been introduced at a lower starting range of Rs. 18.9 lakhs.
