Most automakers mention the increasing commodity prices as the reason for the price hikes. MG Motor India- Windsor EV, ZS EV and Comet EV
Starting with MG Motor India, the ZS EV, Windsor EV, Comet EV and ICE-powered vehicles- Hector, Gloster and Astor will receive a decent price hike. All the mentioned nameplates will get costlier by 3 per cent of their current prices. The automaker has mentioned the rising cost of raw materials required to produce the vehicles.
Hyundai- Venue, Creta and Ioniq 5
Hyundai India has already announced a price hike of up to Rs. 25,000 for its mass-market lineup. However, the company hasn't mentioned the names of the models, these could be Venue, Creta, Alcazar and other mass-market vehicles available in our market. Additionally, high-end models like the Ioniq 5 EV are also expected to get a considerable price increase.
Mahindra- XUV700, XUV 3XO, Scorpio and Others
India's biggest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra and Mahindra has also announced a price hike. A price hike of up to 3 per cent will be applicable on all the SUVs in the brand's portfolio. These products include Thar, Thar Roxx, Bolero Neo and Bolero, Bolero Plus, XUV700, XUV 400 EV and XUV 3XO as well.

Mini India
Mini India has also officially announced the price hike for its products on sale in our region. These price hikes will be applicable from January 1, 2025. There is no piece of information regarding the quantum of price increases.
Nissan- Magnite
Nissan is also among the brands that have already announced price increases for their models. Having only a cornerstone and selling products in our market, the brand will increase the price of the facelifted Magnite. However, there will be no price hike for the X-Trail SUV.
BMW India- M340i 7 Series, 5 Series and Others
BMW India is another auto major who have already announced the price hike, applicable from beginning of new year. It will increase the prices of its cars and SUVs by 3 percent. These models could include M340i, 5 Series LWB, 3 Series Gran Limousine, X5, X1, X3 and the X7 SUVs and other imported models such as i4, i5, iX1, iX, M4 competition, M8, M5 and others.
Mercedes Benz India - Maybach S680 V12, GLC and more
Mercedes Benz India was the automaker who announced the price hike first this year. The quantum of the price increase announced is up to 3 percent. The brand has also mentioned that the Maybach S680 V12 prices will go up by 9 lakh and GLC will receive a price hike of Rs. 2 lakh. A notable thing for the Mercedes is that the units produced by December 31, 2024 will be sold at the same price even after the price hike which also include the units booked before the new year.
Maruti Suzuki
However, the biggest automaker of India- Maruti Suzuki has come up with its decision to announce a price increase W.E.F January, 1, 2025, it has not announced the exact quantum of the price hike. Instead, it has clarified that the price increase for each model will vary, but with a maximum bar of up to 4 percent.
Audi India
Audi India has also made announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent on its products, applicable from January 1. These cars could be the Q series including the Q3, Q3 Sportback, Q5 and Q7. Additionally, we have the A5 Sportback and Q8 SUV, RS e-tron and e-tron GT which come to India via the CBU route.

Verdict
Several automakers, including MG Motor, Hyundai, Mahindra, and BMW, have announced price hikes for their models, effective January 2025. The increases range up to 3-4%, citing rising raw material costs. High-end models like the Mercedes Maybach S680 and Audi's Q-series will see significant price adjustments.
