Maruti's compact crossover SUV Fronx was first revealed at the 2023 auto expo. The official launch along with the price reveal of this new Maruti Nexa product is expected very soon, probably by the end of this month or early next month. The new Maruti Fronx comes in 5 different variants, 2 engine options, and 3 transmission options. The 5 variants of Maruti Fronx are Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta & Alpha.
The Delta Plus is the mid variant of the Fronx and it is the only variant that is available with both engine options i.e. a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1 litre turbo petrol. The 1.2 litre NA petrol in the Fronx Delta Plus comes with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT automatic. On the other hand, the 1 litre turbo petrol in the Fronx Delta Plus comes with only a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 6-speed torque converter automatic option is not available in this variant of the Maruti Fronx. Maruti Fronx Delta Plus Mid Variant With 1.2L NA Engine: Specs
The 1.2L engine in the Fronx Delta Plus mid-variant produces 89 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. It comes with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT automatic. The claimed fuel efficiency figures of the 1.2L Maruti Fronx are 21.79 km/l for the 5-speed manual & 22.89 km/l for the 5-speed AMT automatic. Just like the Fronx top-end variant, the Delta Plus variant also gets a tire size of 195/60 R16.
Maruti Fronx Delta Plus Mid Variant With 1.2L NA Engine: Features
The Delta Plus mid variant of the Maruti Fronx is decently loaded. On the features front, it offers a 7-inch Smartplay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android auto/Apple car play, 4 speaker setup, mono color MID, tilt steering with mounted controls, electrically foldable & adjustable ORVMs, manual dimming IRVM, auto climate control AC, 60:40 split folding rear seats, adjustable front & rear headrests, LED automatic headlamps with LED DRLs, black painted alloy wheels, etc.
Maruti Fronx Delta Plus Mid Variant With 1.2L NA Engine: Safety
The Fronx is based on Maruti Suzuki's famous Heartect platform. Other Maruti cars like Baleno & Swift are also based on the same platform. When it comes to safety features, the Fronx comes with electronic stability control, hill hold, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, rear defogger, ISOFIX child seat system, and all five seats with 3-point ELR seatbelts.

Verdict: The Delta Plus mid variant of the Maruti Fronx with the 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine looks almost like the top-end model from the exteriors, except for the alloys & rear wiper. The major differences are only visible in the interiors. The smaller touchscreen and several missing features in the cabin are evident. Still, it is decently equipped with all the important and most required features one needs in a car. The ex-showroom price of the Fronx Delta Plus variant is Rs 8.72 lakh for the manual transmission option and Rs 9.27 lakh for the AMT automatic transmission option.
