KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Maruti Invicto MPV launched at Rs. 24.79 lakhs
- Based on Toyota Innova Hycross
- Invicto starts reaching dealerships
The Maruti Invicto MPV was launched at a starting price of Rs. 24.79 lakhs on July 5th. While this was a much-anticipated car launch, it has its reasons. This is the first time that a Toyota is rebadged as a Maruti vehicle. Taking its roots from the Innova Hycross, the Invicto has started reaching dealerships.
Let's get into the shots of the same.
Maruti Invicto At Showrooms
While the bookings were open only for the Nexa Blue color, it gets a total of 4 color choices- Nexa Blue, Stellar Bronze, Majestic Silver, and Mystic White. The one we have in front of us is the Nexa Blue color. Customers can choose from two variants called Zeta+ and Alpha+. It gets both the 6 and 7 seating layouts.
While it gets all the bodyshell and engine from the Toyota Innova Hycross, it adds its distinctive elements. At the front, it gets a typical Nexa grille with double chrome strips running along and flushing into the headlamps. On top of this, it gets a signature three-pod DRLs from the NEXA lineup.

When at its rear, it gets a distinct tail lamp design to keep its NEXA identity over Toyota's Hycross MPV that runs beneath. On top of this, you can see the different 17-inch alloy designs to keep their identities apart. However, you can still tell that this is very much the same Innova Hycross.
Features Highlight And Misses
Even though it's very much the same Innova, it is exactly not the same. It skips some of the main feature highlights of Hycross. It misses out on ADAS completely (as we told you) and though it has captain seats but no Ottoman function.
Even after this, it still gets automatic climate control, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and more than 50 Suzuki Connect features. In terms of safety, the Invicto MPV is equipped with front and rear parking sensors, an electric parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags as standard, ensuring a high level of safety for its occupants
Maruti Invicto Engine
The strong hybrid version is a 2.0-liter petrol engine paired with an electric motor. With a combined output of 184hp, it offers an e-CVT transmission and boasts an electric-only mode. The Invicto achieves a 0-100kph acceleration time of 9.5 seconds and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.24kpl.
Remember that you do not get the Naturally Aspirated non-hybrid engine of Hycross with this MPV.
Verdict
While Innova had a cult following, the Maruti badging on the Invicto will only add to the excitment. With more touch points, it will be looking to attract more prospective buyers in citites where Toyota didn't have their outlets. It sure looks like a win-win for both.
