Maruti Suzuki Eeco van will soon be discontinued in the Indian market. A new-gen replacement Eeco is on the way and will launch by 2022 Diwali in India.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco van is undoubtedly the best-selling van in India. But, with a long production stint in the market and no major changes whatsoever; it is soon getting discontinued. Yes, Maruti will be stopping the production of Eeco by the end of July 2022 in India. This is because Maruti will be introducing a newer generation of the Eeco by August-September.

Launched back in 2010 in India; Eeco became the successor to the Maruti Omni van. With larger dimensions & more cabin space, the Eeco van immediately made it to the top sales chart. Eeco is currently among the top 10 selling PVs in FY22. With iconic sliding rear doors, CNG bi-fuel option, & bare minimum tech made it a favorite among the commercial fleet owners. Maruti also sells a cargo variant along with the passenger variant of Eeco.

As per the reports published over the internet, the new Eeco will target export markets. Maruti is the biggest car exporter in India. Hence it is speculated that the new Eeco will also be exported to foreign markets. The current car comes equipped with a 1.2-Lt naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces peak power of 72 hp & 98 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is used for transmission.

In terms of features, the Eeco is equipped with only standard fitments. These include the AC, power steering, ABS, and dual front airbags. With the new generation Eeco we expect the above features to retain along with the addition of a few more features. Also, a reworked and more powerful & efficient engine will find its way under the bonnet of the new car. Maruti sells about 10K units of Eeco van pan India monthly. As there is no direct rival to it, Eeco enjoys the top sales figures.
