Maruti Suzuki S-CNG Update Coming Soon
In recent years, carmakers like Tata have enhanced their CNG offerings with features such as twin-cylinder technology and AMT gearboxes compatible with CNG. This improvement in the CNG vehicle segment has increased the sales of Tata CNG vehicles. Maruti Suzuki still offers a single CNG tank which takes up all the boot space in cars. With the dual-cylinder technology, Tata Motors has resolved the concern of boot space.
Now, the teaser suggests that Maruti is planning to launch some new technology as the teaser says CNG like never before. We can expect the brand to launch twin-cylinder technology with direct CNG start and switchover system to be added in CNG vehicles. With the introduction of twin-cylinder technology, Maruti will be able to offer a decent boot space in cars which will remove the hesitation of customers to choose a CNG car.
The twin-cylinder technology is expected to use two 25-30 litre cylinders placed in the space of the spare wheel and the spare wheel will be moved under the boot. However, the company has not yet disclosed what the new technology will bring.
The factory-fitted CNG comes with added benefits over the third-party CNG kits. The OEM tests the CNG kits thoroughly and adds more safety features to them such as a specialized injection system for added fuel efficiency and consistent performance, retuned suspension, and braking system to suit better to the CNG versions among other adjustments.
