Mercedes-AMG recently introduced the new AMG A45 S hatchback in its portfolio. This new car is not only the most powerful hatchback in the country but is also the most expensive hatchback on sale in India. The Mercedes-AMG A45 S price starts from INR 79.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the car is currently being brought in the country via the CBU route. Here are all the details that you should know about this new hot-hatch.
The new Mercedes-AMG A45 S gets an aggressive design that gives it an attractive look. The front fascia is dominated by the large AMG's signature Panamericana grille upfront while the headlights get a sleek design while the bumper gets a sporty design. Move to the sides and you will notice the new AMG-specific 19-inch alloy wheels while the rear is characterized by new LED taillights and a prominent rear diffuser. The quad exhaust pipes complement the sporty character of this German hatchback.

While the dashboard of the car retains a similar layout as seen on the standard A-Class, you will definitely notice a few AMG-specific touches that uplift the in-cabin experience. The AMG-specific treatment adds a new steering wheel and sporty bucket seats up at the front. Apart from this, we also see lime green accents on the steering wheel and the seats to further improve the sporty appeal inside the cabin. Apart from this, the car also gets twin 10.25-inch displays that feature the brand's latest MBUX infotainment system. On the features front, the car gets an AI-based voice assistant, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, cruise control, electrically adjustable front seats, and memory function. The audiophiles will be pleased to know that the car offers a 12-speaker Burmester Sound system that boasts impressive sound output. Other features like wireless phone charger are also on offer.
The car is powered by a 2.0-L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 421hp and a peak torque output figure of 500Nm. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is mated to this engine that channels power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. This engine not only makes the AMG A45 S the most powerful hatch in India, but also boasts super impressive performance. The car also gets seven driving modes - Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Slippery, Individual, Race and a Drift mode. The car gets a claimed 0-100 timing of 3.9 sec while the top-speed is limited to 270kph
