Mercedes Benz has unveiled their 2020 portfolio line up and the first launch for this year will out on 29th Jan. It is the new GLE and will be available with two diesel and one petrol engine.
Mercedes Benz GLE was launched last year in the global market and it's after a year that the SUV is hitting on Indian roads. The 2020 GLE will be launched with 3 engine options. The entry-level engine will be a 2.0-litre four-pot diesel with 256 hp and 500 Nm of torque and it will be sold with GLE300d badge. The next in line is a 3.0-litre six-pot diesel producing 330 hp and 700 Nm of torque with GLE400d badge.
For the petrolheads, Mercedes will offer a 3.0-litre six-pot turbo-petrol producing 367 hp and 500 Nm of torque and it'll be paired with a mild-hybrid system which gives an additional 22 hp boost in acceleration. It will be badged as GLE450.

Transmission option sticks to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and all engines will be BS6 compliant. The SUV will host multiple features like 4-zone climate control, Panoramic sunroof, dual 12.3-inch screens- one for the driver and another consist of a touchscreen infotainment system. Also, an electric tailgate and hands-free parking will come on board.
The higher trims offer more features like 360-degree parking camera, adaptive airmatic suspension, 6-way electric adjustable rear seats and much more. However, we suspect the presence of Mercedes Benz E-active body control in the Indian-spec GLE.

Mercedes Benz has also announced their future offering and the models which they'll be showcasing at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new portfolio consists A-class sedan which will replace the CLA, Nextgen GLA, the fastest 4 door coupe in the world- GT 63s 4 door and the all-electric EQC
Once launched, It will compete with the likes of cars like BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Range Rover Velar. We expect the prices to start from Rs 75 lakh ex-showroom. Stay tuned for detailed features and variant breakup on the launch date itself.
